The Egyptian Chinese Drilling company (ECDC) is considered one of the leading drilling contractors in Egypt. It was founded in Egypt in April 1998 as the first joint venture between XiBu Drilling Engineering Company Ltd (XiBu ),(abbr. XBDEC) is a subsidiary of CNPC of China. It is one of five drilling engineering company of CNPC , which built up after reorganization of technical team of Xinjiang, Tuha, Qinghai oilfield in China, XBDEC has major business in drilling and subsidiary production, mud logging, well logging and research of drilling technologies. The Headquarter of XBDEC is located in Urumqi, capital of Xinjiang autonomus region of China. XBDEC has equipped with 600 sets of different equipment for drilling, mud logging and well logging including over 200 drilling rigs, employees of 22,300, assets of 1billion USD, and different service crew of 400, and has the capacity of annual drilling footage of 4,400,000 meters, 2600 wells of mud logging, 10,000 wells/time of wire logging & perforating. XBDEC has its subsidiary company such as KDC, Zhundong drilling Company, Tuha Drilling Company, Qinghai Drilling Company, International Drilling Company, Tarim Exploratory Company, Well Logging Company, Mud Logging Company, Tuha and Kelamay Institute of Drilling Technology. XBDEC have serviced the following oil fields in northwest of China: Kelamay , Tuha ,Qinghai,Tarim, Tahe, Yumen , also has 10 overseas projects of Saudi Arabia Kazakestan,Ozbekstan, Sultan, Oman, Egypt, Bakistan,Syria, Iran and Venezuela for oil services and overseas drilling crew of 50 to. , and the Egyptian partner AMAK for Drilling and Petroleum Services. ECDC currently possesses a fleet of eight rigs; 6 drilling and 2 workover rigs, varies from 750 horsepower up to 2000 horsepower. Thanks to ECDC vast experience, dedication to being an industry leader and outstanding contributions to drilling services in Eastern desert, Sinai, Western desert and Delta in Egypt since its foundation, ECDC managed to be placed among the 3 top-listed drilling contractors in the region.
